Should restaurants ban tipping?
Ran into a tough situation last week at a restaurant that was clearly understaffed - for whatever reason(s). I felt bad for the couple of servers who were there, as they were clearly working hard and doing all they could to look after as many patrons as possible. It was obvious they were earning their money. On the other hand, what should have been a 30-45 minute meal took about an hour-an-a-half of our evening. Not exactly the kind of experience that should merit a healthy tip. I left a tip...
